In a statement, cited by Angop, the institution reveals that the centre is composed of three areas: Legal Clinic, Research and Research and Citizenship Projects.
The note explains that the Legal Clinic area will provide, free of charge, legal help to people who have no resources. In addition, this area also aims to help people who are in prison and have already exceeded the maximum time allowed by law to stay in pre-trial detention.
Another area is Research and Investigation, which intends to have available training for students, university professors, magistrates, public agents and civil society organizations.
Finally, the area of Citizenship Projects will include awareness campaigns and education of the population as well as the development of projects with social impact.
The CDHC-UCAN also undertakes to publish reports on human rights in the country on a regular basis.
