Smart education classrooms arrive in the country. Ana Dias Lourenço inaugurated a classroom in Luanda

As of this Tuesday, the country has two smart education classrooms, located in the provinces of Namibe and Luanda. Although the inauguration of the classrooms took place simultaneously, the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, cut the ribbon on the classroom installed in Luanda.

In Luanda, the classroom is located at Liceu 14 de Abril, No. 2003, in the municipality of Kilamba, while in Namibe, the classroom was installed at Liceu No. 58M Welwitschia Mirabilis, in Moçâmedes.

On the occasion, the First Lady of the Republic considered that they were not just inaugurating a classroom, but "possibilities".

"Today we are not inaugurating a classroom. We are inaugurating possibilities, inaugurating a path that reinforces my conviction that education is the most solid army for integrated and sustainable development", said Ana Dias Lourenço.

The First Lady, quoted by Angop, also highlighted the real impact of technology on education, the ability of a single teacher to train more than 1000 students at the same time, as well as the elimination of geographical obstacles, through the connection between schools, among others.

Ana Dias Lourenço also spoke about the direct connection between the two schools that have this type of classroom, namely the high school in Kilamba and the high school in Moçâmedes, allowing content, experiences and classes to be shared in real time.

According to the person in charge, a "digital source" was thus created between the two high schools, in a connection that transcends geographical barriers. "We created a digital source between the 14 de Abril High School and the Welwitschia Mirabilis High School. This connection transcends geographical barriers, bringing knowledge, experiences and dreams closer together", she said, also encouraging students to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to learn and expand their knowledge responsibly and creatively.

In turn, the CEO of Huawei Angola, António Hou, quoted by Angop, believes that technology can create bridges between urban and rural areas, ensuring that "every child has access to a fair, modern and inclusive education".

According to him, the project has three functional phases, the first of which is through the smart classroom, where teachers can teach classes remotely to students anywhere in the country, as long as they have digital equipment.

The CEO of the technology company also said that the classes will be recorded and made available in video format, generating an accessible educational platform, in which international teaching content in Portuguese and English can be inserted.

Artificial intelligence is another tool that will help teachers prepare materials, organize exams and answer students' questions, writes Angop.

"This program supports 250 smart classrooms at the same time and up to 1400 students with devices connected online, with plans to expand over time," he added.

According to Angop, the classroom in Luanda, which has cutting-edge technology such as Huawei IdeaHub, is part of a pilot project promoted by the Ngana Zenza Foundation for Community Development, with the support of Huawei Angola.

The provincial government of Namibe, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, says that the inauguration of the room in the province will enable students to be equipped with "essential knowledge to face the challenges of the digital age".

"With the inauguration of the smart room at the Welwitschia Mirabilis High School, the conditions have been created to equip students with essential knowledge to face the challenges of the digital age, reconciling theory with practice, establishing interconnection with remote smart rooms, and sharing the platform with other provinces and countries with similar systems", the note reads.
