The previous maximum limit for adjusting these values, which was in force, had been set at 10.62 percent for the 2023-2024 school year.

For the next school year, according to a joint statement by the National Association of Private Education (ANEP) and the Association of Angolan Private Higher Education Institutions (AIESPA), the adjustment must respect the maximum limit of 20.74 percent, in accordance with the annual inflation rate of May 2025.

This adjustment, for the school year that begins in the first half of next September, "aims to ensure that the increases are proportional to economic changes and maintain the balance between the sustainability of the institutions and the financial capacity of families", says the statement.

ANEP and AIESPA warn private education institutions that need to make adjustments above the stipulated limit that "they may only do so with authorization from the competent authorities, with economic grounds that justify such need".

"Institutions must justify any adjustments to tuition fees based on established economic indices, ensuring transparency in the process," the associations indicate, also highlighting that institutions must set new tuition fee tables, highlighting the percentage increase and the reasons for it, in line with the inflation rate and operating costs.
