This is Shoprite's 25th establishment in Angola, which opens 20 years after the supermarket chain arrived in the country.

According to Angop, the new store is located in the Sinai-Novo neighborhood and allowed the creation of 154 new jobs.

This new establishment differentiates itself from the other supermarkets in the chain that are distributed throughout the country. While the other stores are mainly retailers, the new store in Luena focuses on selling wholesale basic goods.

Offering a diverse set of services, the store has a bakery, pastry shop, delicatessen, butcher's, totaling 14 thousand varied items, 10 thousand of which are related to food products.

According to Angop, this is the second commercial establishment in the east of Angola, after Lunda Sul, with only Lunda Norte, which is one of the three provinces that make up this region of the country, outside of it.

Nationally, it is only in Bengo and Lunda Norte that Shoprite is not present.
