The Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), in a statement to which VerAngola had access, informed that the team held its first training session on June 3rd, in Portugal, where it will stay for the next three weeks.
The national coach, Josep Clarós, was satisfied with the conditions he found in Portugal. "As for the conditions, the truth is that in Luso you can work very well, you can eat very well and you can rest very well, that's what we're going to do here".
"There are no distractions (...), so when the player arrives here after a few days of adapting to another intensity he begins to have a clearer focus", he added, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
In the group stage of the pre-Olympic tournament, the country is part of group A, also composed of Spain and Lebanon.
In terms of the tournament calendar, Angola will play on the 3rd of July against Spain and on the 4th against Lebanon.
"The main objective of this tournament will be to obtain a place in the Paris Olympic Games, which will take place from the 26th of July to the 11th of August in the French capital", points out the FAB.
