Pedro Gonçalves wants to qualify Angola for the 2026 World Cup

The Angolan coach, Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, expressed this Thursday his desire to qualify Angola for the 2026 World Cup, despite admitting that the national team is not the favorite in its group.

:

"We are at a moment where we propose to take the next step, as our journey was good, despite the setbacks that we overcame and CAN was not by chance, it was basically to continue our growth, and after our performance in CAN, of course, the Angolan people and we aspire to more, with respect knowing that we are also in a process, but we obviously want to take the next step and set ourselves a greater objective, we will not be the favorites for qualification, but we want to be in the World Cup " he said.

We have a lot of respect for our opponents, but I am confident in what our process has been. We want to assert ourselves and Tomorrow is the day we will be playing at home and we want the fans to cheer with us, and in the end, we get the three points, and at the end of the ten games, we reach qualification for the World Cup", he stated.

Captain Fredy guaranteed that the working group led by the Portuguese coach is motivated to reach the first three points, after two consecutive draws in the previous rounds.

"The group is motivated, the atmosphere has been spectacular, there is joy and we are motivated for another stage, and we will look for victory, which is our objective", he guaranteed.
