According to a statement from the provincial government of Huíla, to which VerAngola had access, the assembly of infrastructure and equipment is proceeding normally.
"The work of assembling infrastructure, equipment and all technology in the field follows the normal course, when completed it will provide dozens of jobs, mostly young people from the municipality of Quilengues", the note reads.
It should be noted that the municipal administrator's visit to the works took place last week, more specifically on June 6th.
Remember that in October last year, forecasts pointed to the Chinese mining company Niobonga starting niobium exploration in Quilengues in April this year. However, the prediction did not come true, with the company's deputy general director, Grande Zé, admitting that they could suffer some unforeseen events in the process.
"We are planning to start exploration work in April next year, but we may have unforeseen events such as the populations residing in the area, as we are finishing the eviction phase, but there is another one and we may encounter impediments, as well as rain which could delay the process further", said the person responsible at the time.
It should be noted that in 2020 it was announced that the Chinese company was investing 100 million dollars to begin the exploration of niobium – a rare mineral used in the manufacture of electric turbines, in the space industry, among others – in Huíla.
