According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the audience granted by João Lourenço to Ahmed Elsewey – which took place at the Talatona Convention Center, after the head of State had opened Angotic 2024 – was dominated by "aspects linked to possible investments in Angola by this multinational in the energy sector".
Thus, according to Ahmed Elsewey, the supply of smart electrical meters, as well as collaboration in the technological and digital domain, were some of the topics discussed at the hearing.
He also said that they had discussed the multinational's presence in the Angolan market: "We talk about our presence in the Angolan market, where we have already been involved in the construction of electrical stations and are creating transmission lines and solar projects", he said, in statements at the end of the meeting, cited by Angop.
While Ahmed Amin, regional director of the multinational, said that it will continue to invest in the country, highlighting that Angola has opportunities and that they have "great confidence" in the country.
"We have great confidence, it is a country different from others in Africa and we have a lot to do in the sector in which we operate", pointed out the person in charge, who, quoted by Angop, indicated that the purpose is to collaborate for the country's development.
It should be noted that Angotic 2024 opened its doors this Thursday, where the President of the Republic was present.
According to another note from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the head of state, "while staying at the Talatona Conference Center, took a long look at the stands set up in the venue and which represent the wide variety of products and services that this year's edition of Angotic 2024 shows".
On that occasion João Lourenço "enjoyed the exhibition, experienced first-hand experiences provided by innovation and digital technology and interacted with several exhibitors".
