João Bamba, general director of the aforementioned hospital and also an obstetrician, reported that the patient is recovering well.
"It is a rare uterine tumor that was successfully removed. The patient continues to react well, 48 hours after the operation", he said, quoted by Angop.
According to the general director, it was a complex operation, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, taking into account the patient's age.
This surgery, he added, is part of 17 other operations for cysts, fibroids and other gynecological tumors carried out last month in that hospital unit, as part of a campaign promoted by health authorities at local level, writes Angop.
The hospital unit wants to carry out 47 gynecological operations, with the aim of saving the lives of several patients suffering from these problems, according to the general director, who also made it known that surgeries of this type will be carried out every three months, with a view to reducing the number of patients waiting.
On another note, the hemotherapy center at that hospital saw its blood stock reinforced with ten blood bags. The donation, made this Tuesday, came from members of the delegation from the Ministry of the Interior, as part of the celebrations of the 44th anniversary of the aforementioned ministerial department, which are celebrated on June 22nd.
On the occasion, Capela Boavida, responsible for the aforementioned center, left a word of thanks and took the opportunity to ask that more entities follow this example, with a view to reducing the lack of blood in the hospital, writes Angop.
