"In order to guarantee the security of our networks and, with this, guarantee a safe and robust telecommunications and information technology service in defense of our users and services, we have started a program that will culminate in the installation of an academy in the country of cybersecurity, as well as the creation of regulatory conditions for the use of telecommunications networks", said the head of state, during his speech at the opening ceremony of the third edition of Angotic 2023.
On the occasion, João Lourenço also said that "in partnership with the other interested parties", they redoubled "efforts in the field of guaranteeing trust and security in the use of service networks with a focus on the protection and defense of critical infrastructures and vital services of information, as well as promoting free, secure and efficient use of cyberspace by public and private entities".
In the field of innovation, he highlighted "the emergence of very dynamic and successful digital startups, which proves the strength of the Angolan youth entrepreneurship ecosystem, which has already deserved several international awards for the degree of innovation and impact achieved in the economy and, equally, to show how much" the youth is "engaged and committed to contributing with their knowledge, intelligence and dedication to the development" of the country.
In his speech, among other aspects, the President of the Republic also pointed out that the "telecommunications, information and communication technologies sector in the country is in full growth", exemplifying with projects such as "the construction and placing in orbit of the communications Angosat-2", "the terrestrial and underwater fiber optic connections to Cabinda, the work in progress with a view to starting the construction of an Earth observation satellite", among others.
It should be noted that Angotic 2023 started this Monday and will run until next Wednesday, June 14th.
