President of Egypt starts visit to Angola

The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, starts this Tuesday a trip to Angola, Zambia and Mozambique, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation and finding ways to respond to the concerns of the African continent, announced his office.

The spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, adviser Ahmad Fahmy, said that the President's visit to the Southern African region is part of the context of "Egypt's desire to intensify involvement and coordination with African brothers, cultivate closer cooperation to economic, commercial and investment level".

Added to this is "the advanced priority given to African issues in Egyptian foreign policy", refers to the note released by his office.

During his visit to the Zambian capital, Lusaka, al-Sisi will participate in the 22nd summit of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), during which the rotating presidency of the bloc passes from Egypt to Zambia, revealed the same source .

The President is expected to discuss the latest developments on regional issues and dossiers of mutual interest and cooperation to develop joint African action to boost development and economic integration on the continent.

Al-Sisi arrives this Tuesday at the end of the day in Angola, with the signing of agreements and a working lunch with the head of state, João Lourenço, expected on Wednesday.
