According to a statement from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which VerAngola had access to, in his invitation, the official also asks Chinese businessmen to invest not only in the poles, but also in rural industrial parks. "The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, invited Chinese businessmen who intend to invest in Angola, to channel their investments in the Industrial Development Poles and in the Rural Industrial Parks that are being put into operation", reads the note.

Speaking this Friday at the China-Africa Urban Cooperation Forum – an activity that falls within the scope of the 3rd edition of the China-Africa Economic Exhibition (CAETE) – Victor Fernandes said that "industrial location infrastructures have been in great demand by investors, mainly those dedicated to the manufacturing industry, with a view to conquering intra-African markets, in the context of regional economic integration, both at the level of the AfCFTA and the SADC".

On the occasion, the holder of the Industry and Commerce portfolio also highlighted the "structural reforms" that are underway in Angola, "whose objectives are to increasingly improve the business environment and the well-being of the Angolan people", refers to the statement.

Thus, he stressed that they proceeded to review, adjust and improve legislation on private investment, competition and public procurement, aiming to better respond "to the new vision of attracting and promoting business" in the country. "We reviewed, adjusted and improved legislation on private investment, competition and public procurement to better respond to the new vision of attracting and promoting business in Angola, where investors now enjoy greater protection and guarantees from the State, in addition to being liberalized without minimum amounts or obligations," he said, quoted in the note.

"Within the scope of trade relations with China, he said that Angola has a surplus trade balance, due to the weight of oil, so the current concern is to invert the situation and put the country on the logical path of creating added value in certain areas of the national economy", reads the communiqué.

It should be noted that the country is present at the 3rd edition of CAETE with a multisectoral delegation made up of the "minister of Agriculture and Forestry, the ambassador accredited to China, the secretary of State for Commerce, the governors of Bengo and Malanje, directors, consultants and technicians from different ministerial departments".

Running until Sunday, July 2, this edition of CAETE has the motto 'Common Development for a Shared Future', "in the spirit of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to implement the 'Nine Programs' for Cooperation" between China and African countries.
