The IPCN of the National Statistics Institute (INE), consulted this Wednesday by Lusa, says that comparing the year-on-year change between May and April this year there is an acceleration of 0.03 percentage points.
In the reference period, the provinces that registered the smallest variation in prices were Bengo (0.73 percent), Cabinda (0.75 percent) and Benguela (0.79 percent), with the greatest variation being Namibe (1.19 percent), Zaire (1.09 percent) and Uige (1.07 percent).
The health sector, among the 12 cataloged classes, was the one that registered the biggest increase in prices, with a variation of 1.96 percent, with emphasis also on clothing and footwear, with 1.54 percent, goods and miscellaneous services, with 1.47 percent, and hotels, cafes and restaurants, with 1.20 percent.
In the province of Luanda, the capital, the IPCN points out that there was a variation of 0.99 percent from April to May 2023 and a monthly acceleration of 0.06 percentage points, while in homologous terms (May 2022 to May 2023), there was an acceleration in the current rate of change of 0.21 percentage points.
"The 'Health' class registered the biggest price increase with 2.44 percent. Also noteworthy are the increases in prices verified in the classes 'Goods and various services' with 1.90 percent, 'Clothing and footwear' with 1.63 percent and 'Alcoholic beverages and tobacco' with 1.58 percent", indicates the document.
