Banco Português de Fomento reiterates interest in collaborating with BDA

The Banco Português de Fomento (BPF) reaffirmed its interest in cooperating with the Banco de Desenvolvimento Angolano (BDA). According to BPF president Maria Celeste Oliveira, “the next concrete step” is to start working.

According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, to which VerAngola had access, this Tuesday a meeting took place between the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the BDA and the BPF, at the supervisory premises, which served to establish future areas of cooperation between the two banking institutions.

"The meeting, in Luanda, served to define the future areas of collaboration between the two banks, with the main focuses being support for small and medium-sized companies, large infrastructure projects, and areas of capital and instruments of capital for companies", reads the note.

This meeting, adds the statement, "took place following a recent meeting in the city of Porto, in Portugal, between the BDA and the BPF, with the aim of establishing partnerships in various aspects and also for sharing experiences between the two institutions" .

On the occasion, Maria Celeste Oliveira reiterated her interest in maintaining a collaboration between the two banks.

"The next concrete step is to start working. For that, we will have regular meetings with the president of the Angolan Development Bank to really start working on concrete projects", said the official, quoted in the note.

It should be noted that the meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, the chairman of the BPF Board of Directors, Maria Celeste Oliveira, the chairman of the BDA Executive Committee, Patrícia Almeida, as well as executives from two banks and national directors of the ministry.
