On Friday, the chairman of Deloitte Angola highlighted the topic of automation, which is increasingly taking precedence in the world and also in Angola, arguing that, despite this technological trend, people are the key to its operation.

José Barata was speaking to the press at the end of the presentation of the 13th edition of the study on "Tendências Tech Trends 2022", by Deloitte, which highlights automation as the emerging key to sustain and improve business operations and how, in turn, frees professionals for more specialized tasks.

For José Barata, "the commitment to people and their training and national resources is the key to the success of organizations and also of Deloitte in providing services to various organizations".

During the study presentation ceremony, a cooperation protocol was signed between Deloitte and the Catholic University of Angola (UCAN), for the training of students, and new agreements are expected to be signed with other academic institutions.

"This is Deloitte's approach to an academic environment, because we understand that we must support academic institutions so that later on we can have quality technicians trained in our universities", he said.

According to José Barata, the agreement provides for the presence of an advanced Deloitte center at UCAN's facilities, to work with 3rd, 4th and 5th year students.

"In addition to paying the tuition fees, Deloitte also gives these students a scholarship, subject to academic achievement - they must have minimum grades for this and they must continue to do so - but they will spend part of the day in the classroom and another in the project at the university's facilities, where we will have an advanced center", he explained.

The 13th edition of Deloitte's 'Tech Trends' study analyzes the different ways in which organizations are automating and using increasingly powerful technological tools to project the future.

"Investments in technology and in human resources are the main challenges for the future of companies, making it crucial to adopt increasingly customized tools capable of improving work efficiency and the quality of life of companies' human capital", said José Barata, quoted in the Deloitte press release.

"In Angola we have felt this development happening, thus demonstrating that our market is following world progress. The evolution of technology must also ensure a humanization of the future of work in order to maximize the potential of national human capital given that this evolution it induces automatism, influences the location of work and challenges skills and talent standards", adds José Barata.
