Angola marked ‘Portugal Day’ saying that the country is a “thriving nation” and recognized

On Friday, the President of the Republic sent a message of congratulations to his Portuguese counterpart, highlighting Portugal as "a thriving nation, of great respect and recognition at European and world level".

"The Angolan head of state with satisfaction highlighted the unique trajectory and ethnic plurality of the Portuguese people, which contributed to their important cultural enrichment and made Portugal a thriving nation, with great respect and recognition at European and world level", reads the note released by the press service of the Presidency.

In the message, João Lourenço said he believed in the great potential for cooperation between the two countries and was convinced of good bilateral relations and at the level of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP).

Lourenço believes in "the enormous potential of existing cooperation possibilities" between the two countries, adding that both should continue "to work together towards the intensification of common actions", with a view to achieving "mutually beneficial benefits, both from a bilateral point of view". , as in the scope of the CPLP".

The Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities is celebrated on June 10, a national holiday in Portuguese territory.
