The information was provided by Adelino Mateus, chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of Angola All Box Lda. – company that owns InduPlás.

Speaking to the newspaper Mercado, the official explained that the company will invest 500 million kwanzas to start, in the first three months of 2023, the production of kraft (paper) type bags.

These new packages, according to the official, will replace some plastic bags, which are considered "the main sources of environmental pollution and one of the biggest obstacles to the flow of rainwater".

Cited by the Market, Adelino Mateus indicated that production is expected to expand over a two-year time horizon: "The expectation is to expand production in the next two years, because we expect a growth of over 70 percent in production and revenue collection, since that we will introduce new products and there will be an increase in our production".

Regarding the products they manufacture, the official indicated that they have value in the country's market, especially in the fishing areas since "they are normally used for thermal insulation in fish canning boxes".

However, he said that the company faces some adversities, stressing that obtaining raw material is the most disturbing, since it originates from Saudi Arabia.

Among the obstacles, the official, quoted by the Market, also mentioned complications in setting up a company in the country: "Opening and maintaining a business in Angola is difficult (especially with the economic crisis that has been going on for a few years) as it has increased the difficulty of importing of raw materials, the threat of currency shortages, inflation and the lack of strict policies to control the import of finished products that compete with ours".

He also said that the exchange rate scenario also does not help the company's goals, as the lack of foreign exchange complicates imports and obstructs expansion.

"The devaluation of the kwanza has increased the demand for our products, since there is not a large supply of imported products due to the shortage of foreign exchange. Thus, the challenge of responding to demand and facing this new scenario that we are experiencing remains ours. currently in Angola", he added, quoted by the Market.

The factory, which has 38 employees, opened its doors in 2013 and is located in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone, being able to produce around 698 tons of plastic bags annually.
