Galiangol wants to reinforce production with the opening of new quarries. Project depends on funding of 1.5 million

Galiangol plans to reinforce and increase its production levels through the opening of new quarries in the south of the country, particularly in the province of Cunene. However, putting this plan into practice is subject to funding in the amount of 1.5 million dollars.

The export of granite to Europe is also part of the company's plans. Speaking to the market, José Subtil, the company's administrative director, informed that Galiangol will start, in July, with the export of 500 tonnes of 'quartzito kuroca' granite to Italy.

Granites such as 'negro Angola', 'marron' and 'blue and night' were once produced by the company, which currently has only one product.

It should be noted that Galiangol was not oblivious to the impact of covid-19, which ended up shaking production and sales, which are mostly based on exports.

According to the official, quoted by the Market, "the containers were conditioned in China and there was a drop in demand on the international market".

This event meant that the company did not comply with operating costs, a scenario that has continued to date. However, according to the official, this situation is something that the company wants to overcome "as soon as possible".

Speaking to the market, he considered that Angola has potential with regard to minerals yet to be explored, however there are still obstacles in the export procedure, which he considers to be "very bureaucratic".

"Improvements in the development of the sector are expected," he added.

The company was created in 2017, located in Cunene. It employs 21 people and is capable of producing 250 cubic meters per month.
