Government wants to improve business environment to climb the “Doing Business” ranking

The Executive will carry out reforms in a dozen areas of the economy by April 2022 to improve the business environment, attract foreign investors to the country and have a better position in the World Bank's “Doing Business” ranking.

According to Sérgio Santos, Minister of Economy and Planning, the Executive has been working to leave the 177th position in the ranking and rise 16 places, to 160.

At the end of the sixth ordinary meeting of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers, which took place this Tuesday, the minister of Economy made it known that one of the gaps most criticized by investors is the difficulty felt in the process of setting up companies. In this way, the responsible said that a digital platform is being developed for this purpose, which intends to make the process easier and faster.

The minister also guaranteed, in a government statement to which VerAngola had access, that the General Tax Authority, the National Institute of Social Security and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce will also join this platform, "simplifying the process even further. process of incorporation of a company".

The proposed reforms also involve the no need for a Commercial Permit for companies whose activity is not considered critical, such as the opening of a hairdressing salon, for example.

The process of obtaining the Property Registry will also be simplified - aiming to facilitate access to land - and the Land Registry.

One of the novelties is the creation of a counter dedicated to micro and small companies on the Stock Exchange.
