One billion and 300 million kwanzas is how much the government will invest in the construction of four prisons. The establishments, which will be able to house more than 1000 inmates, will be built in the provinces of Cabinda, Moxico, Kwanza Sul and Bié.

According to the Commissioner Carlos Albino, director for infrastructure and equipment of the Ministry of Interior, each prison will have the capacity to accommodate 1,200 prisoners.

The director for the area of infrastructure and equipment of the Ministry of Interior, cited by Angop, also considered that these four new buildings will help to alleviate the overcrowding of prisons in the country.

The official, who was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new buildings of the Ministry of Interior in Kwanza Norte, also said that the Government also plans to build four fire departments in the country as well as 22 integrated municipal commands.
