UNITA is concerned about the high crime rate in the country

UNITA's parliamentary group expressed "great concern" with the high crime rate in Angola, especially in the capital, Luanda.

In a press release, the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) highlights among the effective criminal occurrences of the National Police that have been affected in the fulfillment of its mission of guaranteeing the security of citizens.

"The UNITA parliamentary group regrets and condemns what happened and adds to the grief of the bereaved families, presenting their feelings of deep regret", the note emphasizes.

The military structures are urged to improve the working conditions of the corporation's staff in order to protect their lives.

"The UNITA parliamentary group urges all citizens to respect and protect the good life and dignity of the human person", reads the document.

Last weekend, a deputy shared the alleged kidnapping of his son on social media, having been approached by an armed man, who got into his car and forced him to drive away.

In another video, the same deputy appears to announce the appearance of his son, four hours after his abduction.

Another piece of information reveals the death of a National Police agent, the second case in less than a week, on Saturday, the victim of gunfire in an exchange of fire, when he was trying to thwart the assault on a company vehicle, which was transporting an elevated monetary amount.
