According to the leader of the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), Liberty Chiaka, the party is following "with concern" the manifestations of Angolan doctors about its situation.
At issue is the complaint of health professionals, supported by the National Union of Doctors of Angola (Sinmea), about the situation of more than 2500 national doctors who are unemployed.
Liberty Chiaka underlined that the Government's justification for hiring Cuban doctors, in recent days, to the detriment of national officials, "does not convince any Angolan", criticizing what he said was the "casuistic perspective" of public affairs management that the executive has done.
The costs for hiring Cuban medical specialists for health care in Angola amount to more than US $ 70 million, an expense authorized by presidential order.
The hiring of Cuban specialists aims to ensure medical assistance to the populations and to train national professionals, but the diploma does not refer to the fight against covid-19.
"Let us look at the present, especially looking at the future, Angolans are here to stay, expatriate doctors come for a certain time and then they will return, the one who has to stay on the ground is the Angolan doctor", stressed the deputy.
For Liberty Cchiaka, the situation is "more serious" when there are 2500 unemployed doctors and 260 foreign doctors are recruited.
"You can't accept that," he said, expressing the party's position and the steps to be taken by the parliamentary group.
"We are aware that you have addressed the same concerns to the National Assembly's sixth specialty committee, which has not given due treatment and we will assume our responsibility, advocate with the National Assembly to give due treatment and express our position of disagreement here. in relation to the strategy that the Government adopted ", he underlined.
