According to the minister, the case, which ended in death, was hospitalized on the floor where other positive cases were identified at the Multiperfil Clinic health fence.

"This individual, due to positive cases at the Multiperfil Clinic, where patients were tested on the floor where there were infected cases, on the 19th tested negative," said the minister, noting that in the new test, whose result was obtained Wednesday, was positive, "but unfortunately, died, not because of complications related to covid-19, but with their diseases.

The four new imported cases are in the Special Economic Zone at the treatment centre in Viana.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 416,000 lives and infected more than 7.3 million people in 196 African countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.

After Europe succeeded China as the centre of the pandemic in February, the American continent has become the country with the most confirmed cases, although with the fewest deaths.
