Museums reopen under "strict measures" of security

The country's museums are being reopened under "strict measures" of biosecurity, such as cleaning hands at the entrance and limiting the capacity of the rooms to 50 percent, to contain the spread of covid-19, said the official source Wednesday.

According to museologist Soraia Ferreira, a senior technician at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment, the museums began reopening on Monday and the process is conditioned by the safety rules that go through "new habits".

"As the hygienization of the hands at the entrance, respect the distance of security that will vary taking into account the size of the museums, because I think that the larger museums should extend the number of visitors, but within the limitations of 50 percent," she told Lusa.

Soraia Ferreira, former national director of museums, also said the ministerial department will also implement measures to sanitize visitors' shoes by placing a carpet with water and bleach on the door.

"And we will work this way respecting all the rules so that we do not put at risk neither the technicians nor the visitors of our museums", she said.

Angola, which has been experiencing a public calamity since 26 May, currently has 118 positive cases of covid-19, five deaths and 41 recovered.
