In a statement at the 19th edition of CaféCIPRA, the minister clarified that Angola's entry into the SADC FTA will be approved at the organization's conference: "Next June we will participate in the SADC conference so that, finally, Angola's integration into the Free Trade Zone can be approved at the level of the Council of Ministers, an act that will give rise to the ratification ceremony at the organization's Summit of Heads of State".

Quoted by Jornal de Angola, the Minister of Industry and Commerce considered that this action symbolizes the "first step" of great importance in consolidating the African sub-regions.

Minister Rui Miguêns de Oliveira highlighted the importance of unity among the various Regional Economic Communities of Africa in the search for mechanisms to achieve economic independence.

"We will only succeed if we do business among ourselves, if we are able to develop our economic relations, use our best resources from the point of view of competitiveness in each of our nations and, with this, create the strength for the continent, united, to develop and achieve the desired economic independence", he stated.

In addition to Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, this edition of CaféCIPRA, which had as its theme "Angola at the Center of African Diplomacy", was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the executive director of the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), Cláudia Pedro.

On the occasion, Cláudia Pedro spoke about the investment intentions registered by the agency: since 2018, there have been 877 investment intentions, which have enabled the creation of 32 thousand jobs of the 92 thousand planned.

"In our economic diplomacy mission, the agency is very focused on attracting investment to Angola, promoting the country as the main destination for investment in Africa, that is, productive investment capable of impacting internally and on the continent," she said, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

Among other things, Téte António spoke about some of the priorities of the Angolan presidency of the African Union. "In terms of strategy, peace and security are just some of the axes of the Angolan presidency, because we have other development issues, including infrastructure. We cannot talk about economic integration, nor about development and infrastructure, if we are not at peace," said the minister, who, quoted by Jornal de Angola, added: "We only need to look at our own environment and what we have achieved after pacifying our country. It is a scenario that we can repeat on our continent, to see the changes that are included in Agenda 2063, the aspirations of an Africa at peace."
