The unit, located in the Sino-Ord Industrial Park, in the municipality of Barra do Dande, was inaugurated by the provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.
The factory uses local raw materials as its main inputs, including sand for moulding and domestically produced pig iron. In this initial phase, production is focused on the manufacture of brake discs and drums for light vehicles of Japanese and Korean brands, with a daily production capacity of approximately 1,000 units.
The company aims to supply the Angolan market, but also export, with a shipment of eight containers already ready for Nigeria.
Phaeton Industry is already planning a second phase of expansion, which involves an additional investment of between 4 and 5 million dollars, with the aim of increasing production to 6,000 units per day and also starting the production of brake pads.
During the ceremony, the governor expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, highlighting the economic and social benefits provided by the project, which will contribute to reducing unemployment, increasing the value of national raw materials, increasing exports and boosting tax revenues for both the country and the province.
The inauguration was attended by the two vice-governors of the province, José Francisco Bartolomeu Pedro and Edson Cruz, and the municipal administrator of Barra do Dande, João Jordano Cristóvão. Also present were the national director of Industry, Evaristo Baptista, the director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development, Pedro Katendi, as well as other members of the Provincial Government and guests.
