South Korean company wants to build African intercontinental highway passing through Angola

A South Korean company is planning to build an intercontinental African highway through Angola. An initiative of the Korea-African Peace Foundation, the project includes a stretch of highway that is about 1912 kilometers long, connecting some of the country's provinces to the border with neighboring Namibia.

According to a statement, cited by Angop, the project to build the African intercontinental highway was presented during a meeting that Sianga Abílio, Angolan ambassador to South Korea, and Yongwoo Lee, president of the Korea-African Peace Foundation, held last Tuesday.

In addition, the South Korean official also expressed interest in financially supporting a social project.

According to the statement, cited by Angop, the social project is a center for children and training in basic, secondary, higher and technical-professional education.

On the occasion, the president of the South Korean company mentioned the successful implementation of this project in Ethiopia last year.

The Angolan ambassador expressed satisfaction with the proposals that were presented, having assured that he would forward them to the Angolan authorities for subsequent actions.
