To be built in an area of 200 hectares, the project aims to expand the educational offer in the province, translating into a "total investment of 48 million dollars", says the provincial government of Moxico, in a statement that VerAngola had access.
Thus, the first phase of the project will feature academic infrastructures, dormitories for 500 students and more than 100 teachers, "laboratories, library, auditorium and 27 classrooms, in addition to extensive green areas, an 11-a-side football field and a athletics track".
The company H&S is the company responsible for the work, which is expected to be completed by December 2026, benefiting around 5000 students.
The presentation of the project for the design, construction and equipping of the infrastructure took place this Tuesday, in the auditorium of the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Moxico (ISPM). On the occasion, the director of the Studies, Planning and Statistics Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology and Innovation highlighted that the future campus will meet the teaching and research needs of the province, in addition to "resolving structural issues, boosting skills and dynamizing capital of the province and the country".
In turn, the director of the Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics of the Government of Moxico, Osvaldo Dias, said that the "approval of the expense generated great satisfaction and expectations", the note reads.
"Today we see the materialization of this project that will diversify the training offer in the province, with more courses and rooms to serve young people and promote development", he pointed out, quoted in the note.
According to Angop, the future building will be built in the 4 de Fevereiro neighborhood, close to Luena (Moxico).
