This, the first of five matches, is scheduled for 6pm and will take place in the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion, and the management of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) took the decision that the entire final phase will be played in this pavilion.

According to Angop, in recent times, the two teams maintain a balance in games against each other, with Petro de Luanda betting on players with more experience on the team.

Holder of the title, Petro is coached by Sergio Valdeolmillos, who will not be present on the bench due to serving the second game of suspension.

Interclube, which is guided by Apolinário Paquete, does not have a very positive record in finals played against the 'tricolores', having lost all of the aforementioned finals, writes Angop.

Petro qualified for the final after beating Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito in the semi-finals, scoring 100-67 and 92-91, in the best of three matches. While Interclube beat 1.º de Agosto by 101-99 and 84-83.

According to a note from Petro de Luanda, to which VerAngola had access, the emblem's main men's senior basketball team refined its strategy for this Friday's match, in training held on Thursday (2 May).

The training, which took place at the Kilamba Arena, was led by coach Valdeolmillos. "After around 15 minutes of warm-up, Sergio Valdeolmillos led a session entirely focused on offensive and defensive tactics. With several corrections from the technical team, the players clearly understood the strategic ideas" for this Friday's game, refers the note.

With concern focused on the "effectiveness of the shots", Petro also did one last training session, this Friday morning, in which "improving shots at the basket" was the priority.

The 'tricolores' coach, according to the document, was "confident in obtaining a good result, having expressed his satisfaction with the players' performance in training and with the progress recorded in the assimilation of routines".

Yanick Moreira highlighted, in a press conference, "the team's focus on aspects inherent to the game itself, noting that the club's objectives are far above any individual issues".
