According to minister Sílvia Lutucuta, who spoke at the signing ceremony of the agreement with the Global Fund, known as GC7, the new subsidy, now worth 126 million dollars, will also include the Bié region, due to the high number of cases of malaria.
"Until June this year, the provinces of Benguela and Cuanza Sul will be supported and from July 2024, within the framework of the new subsidy, the province of Bié will be included in the project of this important donor partner in the fight against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as well as strengthening the Health System", she highlighted.
Lutucuta said he hopes that the grant will materialize into concrete actions and help improve efficiency in the implementation of activities and execution of resources made available for the prevention and control of these diseases in the three supported provinces.
She assured that the executive is committed to the health sector, highlighting the increase in financial resources, investment in human capital with the entry of health professionals, and improved access to health services and medicines, with the rehabilitation and expansion of health units and carrying out group purchases.
With regard to training, she highlighted that the Ministry of Health expects, in the near future, within the scope of the specialization of 38,000 health professionals, to have sufficient capacity to manage and implement future subsidies efficiently and effectively.
She also highlighted that the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, is working on a sustainable financing model, to implement health co-financing, recognizing that to achieve the subsidy objectives it is necessary to boost community activities.
