The executive decrees, signed by the Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, were published on Saturday in Diário da República.

The declaration as cultural and intangible heritage aims to “avoid its usurpation” and the promotion of measures “aimed at its valorization and preservation for future generations”.

The marimba and the quissanje (quissanje) were also recognized as national intangible heritage, in the field of traditional knowledge and crafts.

The executive also classified as historical-cultural heritage the United Methodist Church of the City of Malanje, the Church of the Catholic Mission of Cuvango, in the province of Huíla, and the building of the Colégio São José de Cluny, in Luanda.lu
