Agricultural producers from Ucuma supply 750 tons of maize to the national market

Agricultural producers in the municipality of Ucuma (Huambo) recently supplied 750 tons of maize in order to ensure the sustainable development of the country's market.

This act derived from the aid made available in the 2021/2022 agricultural campaign by Grupo Carrinho. According to Angop, the company provided 2400 farmers in the municipality with a total of 250 tons of fertilizers, in order to encourage the economy and the valorization of crops, within the scope of strategies to fight poverty.

According to Gustavo Muzialowski, manager of the group's division in the west corridor of Huambo, seeds and fertilizers were delivered to peasants in order to revive production in the locality, as well as, at the same time, ease the effort to purchase this type of items in Ucuma.

Speaking to Angop, the official admitted that that municipality has immense cereal production potential, adding that a company team carried out – between May and September last year – a study of the cereal production potential, having started with the delivery procedure fertilizers, with a view to alleviating the efforts of farming families.

At this stage, the integrated peasant families are making restitution, via the cultivated products, in order to balance production expenses, writes Angop.

It should be noted that Grupo Carrinho has a work department in Caála, developing activities in the municipalities of Ucuma, Chinjenje, Ecunha and Longonjo.
