The International Workers' Day that was celebrated this Monday "has, for the MPLA, a great historical significance and a factor of incentive and mobilization of this social class", highlights, in a communiqué, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the party that supports the Government.

Congratulating the Angolan workers, the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) exhorts them to continue assuming their mission "with responsibility and a spirit of sacrifice, for the effective construction of a new Angola" and reinforces that the workers are "in center of attention of the actions undertaken by the Executive", being preponderant for the strengthening of the national economy.

In the congratulatory message, the MPLA also expresses gratitude to foreigners who work in Angola "within the framework of legal precepts (...) for the contribution they made to the country's development".

The MPLA also called for "frank, open, constructive and inclusive dialogue" between social partners and trade unions and employers to reinforce the quality of services and the "dignification of Angolan workers".

He reaffirmed that he will continue to pay "special attention to private sector employers" and intends to see actions implemented, in the current government cycle that "ensure the right to decent employment" and promote active labor market policies, "with a focus on promoting and encouraging self-employment".
