According to the National Bank of Angola (BNA), the meeting will take place between 10 and 12 May, when the governors of the central banks of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are due to carry out a global analysis of the region's financial system.
Payment systems, clearing and settlement, repatriation of banknotes and metallic coins, services and capital, and exchange in staff training are themes that will equally dominate the meeting.
According to the BNA, the initiatives of the committee of central bank governors (CCBG) also envisage the creation of a database of monetary and financial statistics, a bank of information on the structures and policies of central banks and markets financial institutions in SADC countries.
Created in 1995, the SADC CCBG is a specialized structure in promoting close cooperation between the central banks of southern Africa, considering its fundamental role in promoting economic and financial development through the adoption of policies that reinforce macroeconomic and financial stability .
