Speaking to journalists at the end of the meeting, Wendy Sherman made it known that they will cooperate "in all areas".
"We will cooperate in all areas from maritime security, renewable energies to public health", she informed, quoted in a note made available on Facebook by the Presidency.
The US official also said that the United States recognizes "the importance of President João Lourenço's commitment to fighting corruption and continuing to work in a more transparent and prosperous environment".
In addition, she also considered that the reforms taking place in Angola "will ultimately contribute to the construction of a more open political system".
She also took the opportunity to mention that her country will continue to have Angola "as a strategic partner": "The United States continues to have Angola as a strategic partner, a friend and we will continue to strengthen our bilateral and multilateral cooperation".
It should be noted that the US Assistant Secretary of State is in Angola, as part of a two-day working visit.
