UNITA claims to be a victim of “censorship” for lack of disclosure of party acts

The leader of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) accused the public media of "censorship" for not publicizing the party's activities and criticized the lack of publication of the electoral roll.

:

"We live in times of real scandals, censorship and lack of equal access to information, all issues that the Constitution absolutely guarantees", said Adalberto da Costa Júnior, at the opening of the second Ordinary Meeting of the Standing Committee of the UNITA Political Commission.

"The country followed [on Saturday] the acts of some political parties, namely UNITA, but at night, in the public media, UNITA did not have any act, neither an image nor a second showed the country the act that we developed, with thousands of citizens, but it was excluded, censored, removed from the contents and we would like to know why", said Costa Júnior.

The "approach to the elections is taking place in the worst democratic environment, and that is not normal", lamented the opposition leader, drawing attention to the possibility that many voters arrive on polling day and find that their name is inscribed another constituency, which in practice makes voting impossible.

"The Ministry of Territory Administration and the National Election Commission must comply with the law, posting the lists of citizens who have registered in all municipalities in the country, the institutions are violating the law, and we cannot accept being led to elections anyway, we can't let it go", criticized the opposition leader.

In the opening speech of the second day of work, Adalberto Costa Júnior also said that the consultation of the electronic register of the polling place "no longer works" and that "the answer for those who try to verify if their name is on the list is that they no longer is working".
