"Angola's resources are essential for Europe's energy transition and decarbonisation. In other words, to help Europe achieve the goals it has set itself and which are essential for its sustainability and our sustainability is not just for Europeans", he defended.
Manuel Gil Antunes highlighted the existence of "instruments both from a financial point of view and from a regulatory point of view that are available to entrepreneurs and countries".
"It's just a matter of countries creating, strengthening their institutions to be able to attract these investments and of entrepreneurs having this proactive and fair approach, betting on the development of places where they will invest and to solve their problems", he added.
"Because we need each other to solve everyone's problems", he summarized.
As for the ACNAE, Manuel Gil Antunes said that it is an institution that aims to position itself "as a center for dialogue between businessmen on both sides".
"But we also want to be a center of study and reflection on the conditions that exist in practice for the development of business between the two countries, exchanging experiences between entrepreneurs on both sides and studying the realities. help to reinforce public policies on both sides", he explained.
The Angolan ambassador in Lisbon, Carlos Alberto Fonseca, highlighted the history of his country in the exploration and production of energy.
"We have an energy resource that is very important, which is solar energy. Wind energy too and we are also looking at this source of energy", he stressed, referring to the case of Namibe province, in southern Angola, which pilot projects to develop this type of energy are already underway.
Asked if the war in Eastern Europe is an opportunity for Angola to be a 'player' in the world context in the face of the energy and food production crisis, the Angolan ambassador said that his country is prepared.
"We are prepared. We have the spirit and the will to make it so", he concluded.
