According to a note from MEP, the training that begins next Monday until Thursday, consists of the transmission of knowledge about business management, to be directed to managers of ten cooperatives in the province of Luanda and the same number of cooperatives of Malanje.
This is one of the activities of part two of the Project for Modernization of Cooperative Management (PROMOVE), an initiative of the MEP, implemented by the National Institute of Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), in order to contribute to the strengthening of the legal framework and strengthening the capacity of cooperative managers, through technical assistance in the area of management.
The project aims to create synergies, which provide sustainability to the construction of an ecosystem, coordinated by MEP and INAPEM, through the participation of technicians from INAPEM, the Institute for Agricultural Development, the Institute for Development of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the Fund for Support to Agricultural Development, local young people close to the geographical areas of intervention of the cooperatives, management and accounting service providers, financial institutions, and clients/partners of the cooperatives.
The training program comprises five training modules, namely law, marketing and communication, operational management, personnel management, and accounting. It is expected that at the end of the training the management teams of the cooperatives will be equipped with knowledge and technical tools to support management, so that with the support of the state they can develop their activities within the formal market, applying modern management techniques, autonomous access to credit, and orienting their production towards the market in order to accumulate surplus and increase the income of their members.
The pilot experiment should be extended to the remaining provinces of the country during the month of June.
