Portuguese Prime Minister meets with João Lourenço and Filipe Nyusi in Paris

The Portuguese prime minister, António Costa, will meet in Paris with the president of the Republic, João Lourenço, and the president of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the meeting on the future of African economies.

In addition to bilateral meetings with João Lourenço and Filipe Nyusi, António Costa will also meet with the President of Egypt, Abdul Fatah Khalil Al-Sisi, and the President of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed.

The Portuguese Prime Minister will be in Paris on Tuesday to attend this summit organized by the French President, Emmanuel Mácron.

This meeting, which will discuss African debt financing and the future of the private sector on the continent, will be attended by at least 15 African leaders.

On Degunday evening, President Emmanuel Macron will host the African leaders at the Elysée Palace for a dinner and the conference will take place on Tuesday afternoon at the Grand Palais Ephemere, built next to the Eiffel Tower while the original Grand Palais is under construction.

Other European leaders such as Mario Draghi, Italian Prime Minister, or Pedro Sanchez, Spanish Prime Minister, will also attend the French capital.

Emmanuel Macron also chose to meet with Nyusi and Lourenço bilaterally.

On the bilateral agenda of the meeting between Macron and Filipe Nyusi is the situation in Cabo Delgado and coordination plans between neighboring countries to address terrorism in that region, as well as the various offers of aid from Portugal, the United States and France, according to a source at the Élysée.
