António Ole's painting goes up for auction in the United States

A painting by António Ole is going up for auction in the United States. The work will be auctioned at Bonhams' Modern and Contemporary African Art auction in New York, which will also feature works by other Portuguese-speaking artists.

Among the list of artworks that make up the auction is an untitled painting by the Angolan artist that, according to Jornal de Angola, is valued at about 6142 dollars.

The Angolan artist is joined by works by other Portuguese-speaking artists: Mozambicans Ernesto Shikhani, Malangatana and Bertina Lopes.

According to the same newspaper, along with António Ole's painting, there will also be an auction of Bertina Lopes' "Dream in Space" (estimated at $7105), an untitled work by Malangatana (valued at $10,116) and Ernesto Shikhani's "Liberation of the Black Peoples" (estimated at $7949).

The auction also features works by African artists from other countries. Bids will be submitted by Alexander "Skunder" Boghossian (Ethiopia), Afewerk Tekle (Ethiopia), Geoffrey Ernest Mukasa (Uganda), Hassan el Glaoui (Morocco), and Irma Stern (South Africa).
