The new cases were detected in Futungo de Belas, in Luanda, in an area that is under a sanitary fence and are aged between 9 months and 95 years, all of whom are female and asymptomatic.
According to the minister, who was speaking at a press conference in Luanda, testing continues on all people in this area, related to the “case 26”, with 354 samples being collected, of which 69 have already been tested and six with positive results.
The country currently has a total of 58 cases with three deaths, 38 active and stable patients and 17 recovered.
So far, 10,000 samples have been collected, of which 6693 have been processed, with 58 positive results.
Sílvia Lutucuta also said that about 90 tons of different biosafety material from China arrived in the country.
Globally, according to a report by the AFP news agency, the covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 323,000 deaths and infected almost 4.9 million people in 196 countries and territories.
More than 1.8 million patients were considered cured.
