Covid-19: Hoji Ya Henda surrounded due to local transmission cases

Health authorities set up a health fence in yet another neighborhood in Luanda where there was a case of local transmission of covid-19, the Secretary of State for Public Health reported this Wednesday.

Franco Mufinda, who was speaking in Luanda during the daily epidemiological assessment, said that it is the neighborhood Hoji Ya Henda, where a citizen of Guinea-Conakry, known as 'case 31', resides, who returned on 17 March in Portugal.

The Hoji Ya Henda neighborhood thus joins two other areas of Luanda where cases of local transmission of the virus associated with 'case 26' have been identified, Futungo de Belas (Talatona) and Cassenda (Maianga) where sanitary fences have already been erected. .

In this way, about three thousand people will be controlled, 90 of which will be taken to institutional quarantine.

The total number of citizens in institutional quarantine amounts to more than 900.

The Secretary of State added that no new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, with 45 positive cases remaining, with 30 stable patients, 13 recovered and two deaths.

So far, 5704 samples have been processed, of which 45 have positive results and 5354 negative, 305 samples being processed.

Globally, according to a report by the AFP news agency, the covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 282,000 deaths and infected more than 4.1 million people in 195 countries and territories.
