President of the Republic dismisses and replaces administrations in the electricity sector

The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, exonerated and appointed new boards of directors for public electricity production and distribution companies, according to a note from the Presidency's Civil House.

Based on the Basic Law of the Public Business Sector and for convenience of service, João Lourenço decided to dismiss the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Electricity Production Company (Prodel), José António Neto, and six other administrators.

The head of state also dismissed the chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Electricity Distribution Company (ENDE), Ruth do Nascimento Cardoso de Almeida Safeca, and six more administrators of the Angolan electricity company, with executive and non-executive positions.

To join Prodel's Board of Directors, the head of the government appointed Joaquim Ventura (president), Pedro Eduardo Manuel Afonso, Euclides Morais de Brito, Benício Pedro Machado, Rosa Afonso Miguel (executive directors), Francisco de Maria de Meireles Vasconcelos Júnior and Emanuela Bernardett Afonso Vieira Lopes (non-executive).

The former executive director of the electricity company, Hélder de Jesus Garcia Adão, was appointed president of the Board of Directors of ENDE.

The executive directors of ENDE will be João de Deus Pereira Furtado, Pedro Estêvão Buca, Manuel de Jesus Neto Adão, Isabel Augusto dos Santos, while non-executive directors will be appointed Mário Alberto Mendonça da Silva and João Simão Manuel da Silva.

Also for the convenience of public service, the holder of the executive branch dismissed Ângelo Sebastião Filipe, executive director of the Public Water Company - EPAL, appointing Venceslau Txindji Chissupa to the position.
