Police have deactivated the number 113. In case of emergency you should call 111

Terminal 113 - used by the population to report occurrences or ask the police for help - has been deactivated. Citizens should use terminal 111 or call the "commands of their municipality" if they need to contact the police.

According to Waldemar José, a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior, terminal 113 was deactivated due to technical problems. "Contact 113 has even stopped operating. We no longer recommend that anyone call to report any incidents," he said.

According to Novo Jornal, he also said that so far terminal 111 is only available in the provinces of Luanda and Benguela, but it will eventually be extended to the rest of the country when the delegations of the Integrated Center for Public Security (CISP) are inaugurated in the remaining provinces.

However, the remaining 16 provinces that do not have access to this terminal can still contact the police. The spokesman explained that "in case of emergency, citizens should call the commands of their municipalities", stressing again that the number 113 "is definitely out of service".

He also made it known that Huambo will be the next province to receive the CISP and, consequently, to have terminal 111 active.

Finally, Waldemar José assured that terminal 115 - used to deal with emergencies to the National Civil Protection and Fire Service - is still in operation, writes the same newspaper.
