Angola debuts with victory in the women's futsal CAN

Angola entered the African Nations Championship (CAN) women's futsal in force. The senior women's national team beat Guinea 5-2 on Tuesday in a match counting towards the first round of group B of the competition.

National athletes Joicy, Djamila and Lurdinha were the top scorers for Angola. According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), Joicy and Djamila scored twice in the match, while Lurdinha scored one goal.

The best player of the match – which took place in Morocco, the host country of the championship that runs until the end of this month – was Angolan Djamila Catombela.

"Djamila Catombela, 26 years old, was considered by the competition's organizers as the best on the field, in the match in which the national team beat its Guinean counterpart by 5-2, counting for the first round of Group B of the CAN futsal taking place in the Kingdom of Morocco", announced the Angolan Football Federation, in a note to which VerAngola had access.

The national team's next game is scheduled for Thursday, against Egypt.
