In a statement released this Wednesday and to which VerAngola had access, the ministry clarifies that the information that the Ministry of Territorial Administration would "acquire flags of the Republic worth 20 million dollars, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence", does not "correspond to the truth".
Thus, the ministry indicates that "within the framework of the preparation of the MAT's Annual Public Procurement Plan, the need to acquire flags and other national symbols was identified to meet the various requests from central and local state administration bodies and private institutions".
However, adds that "such a hypothesis was not accepted either in the MAT budget, or in any other budgetary unit, within the framework of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national independence".
"As can easily be concluded, since there is no budgetary allocation, no bidding process is planned, nor will it be initiated, for the acquisition of flags of the Republic worth 20 million dollars, as has been reported," explains.
The ministry concludes by reiterating "its commitment to transparent management and rational, balanced expenditure execution that is appropriate to the current situation of the national economy".
