According to the data released, in the last 24 hours, 12 of the 17 provinces affected by the cholera outbreak registered new infections, with the province of Benguela reporting 94 of the 222 cases, followed by Luanda (37), Malanje (28), Cuanza Norte (22), Bengo (11), Icolo and Bengo (eight), Namibe (five), Cuanza Sul (five), Huíla (four), Cabinda (three), Cubango (three) and Zaire (two).
Regarding deaths, the province of Icolo and Bengo recorded half of the four deaths reported in the period under analysis.
In the last three months, data points to a cumulative total of 13,024 cases and 482 deaths, with a fatality rate of 3.7 percent, with Luanda, the epicenter of the disease, being the province with the highest number of infections (5116) and deaths (185).
In the last 24 hours, 156 people were discharged from hospital, with 1349 others remaining hospitalized with cholera.
The cholera outbreak was declared by authorities on January 7 this year and affects 17 of the country's 21 provinces.
