CISP and ARSEG sign memorandum to “put an end to high levels of fraud”

The Integrated Public Security Center (CISP) and the Angolan Insurance Regulation and Supervision Agency (ARSEG) signed a cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening transparency and efficiency in the compensation of claims under the responsibility of the Automobile Guarantee Fund (FGA), a measure that will help to “put an end to the high levels of fraud recorded by the FGA”.

According to a statement from CISP, to which VerAngola had access, the institutional cooperation protocol was signed on Wednesday morning, at ARSEG headquarters, by commissioner Alducínio Isaac Sandolina Silva Lutucuta, director of CISP, and by Filomena Airosa Manjota, president of the Board of Directors (PCA) of ARSEG.

On the occasion, the CISP director considered that "this is a very satisfactory moment", because within its attributions, "it aims to provide support to State bodies, whether in terms of public security or in other aspects that cause discomfort to citizens and State institutions".

"With this protocol, we are taking important steps towards dealing with traffic accident issues. We will also help identify those responsible for accidents and take important steps towards the restitution of state assets," he added.

"With this signature, we can identify victims more accurately and quickly through a video surveillance system, since we are currently in the process of reviewing the legislation that regulates this matter, with a view to starting to also compensate for losses where the cause is unknown, because the ultimate purpose of this fund is to safeguard the well-being of people. The alliance between the two organizations will allow for greater efficiency in the payment of compensation", considered the CEO of ARSEG.

According to a statement from ARSEG, to which VerAngola had access, the protocol "aims to establish a relationship of institutional cooperation between the entities, in making CISP images available, to identify the causes of accidents that may result in human victims, so that the Automobile Guarantee Fund (FGA) can intervene, within its powers established by law".

ARSEG says this collaboration is a step towards "putting an end to high levels of fraud".

"This cooperation is the beginning of a process that will put an end to the high levels of fraud recorded by the FGA, whose mission is to satisfy financial compensation resulting from death and bodily injury resulting from traffic accidents, whenever the responsible party does not benefit from valid, effective insurance or even when the insurer is declared bankrupt", says the note.
