Ministry of Finance provides credit line for local suppliers

Local suppliers of goods and services now have short-term credit financing available that can be used to purchase inputs.

:

According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance to which VerAngola had access, the initiative is part of the CAC 2023-2024 Campaign Agricultural Credit program, which aims to "promote access to credit for small and medium-sized agricultural and livestock producers" and "stimulate commercial agriculture based on national products, with the aim of strengthening the agricultural sector".

Producers eligible to benefit from the aforementioned financing line must contact one of the operating banks: Banco Angolano de Investimento (BAI); International Business Bank (BNI); Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA); Banco Millenium Atlântico (BMA); Savings and Credit Bank (BPC); BIC Bank; Banco SOL, or Banco Comercial Huambo (BCH), and comply with the membership conditions defined in the Indicative Technical Sheets.

The ministry also states that the action is set out in Notice no. 10/22, of April 6, from the National Bank of Angola (BNA).
