José Tavares, who was speaking to journalists in Luanda, where he is participating in the celebrations of the 23rd anniversary of the Angolan Court of Auditors, also praised the "very high" quality of the technical staff of the TdC of Angola and the excellent cooperation between both bodies.
"This anniversary represents a very important moment for me, because I have followed the birth and evolution of the Angolan Court of Auditors and the excellent cooperation that has always existed with the Portuguese Court of Auditors", said the judge.
According to the president of the Portuguese TdC, the body that oversees it has passed on its experience to its Angolan counterpart and also receives a lot from it, especially in the areas of exchanging ideas and experiences and good practices, methodology and carrying out audits.
He considered that the Angolan TdC has a very high quality technical staff, highlighting that auditors from Portugal and auditors from Angola have an "invisible cooperation" which translates into regular contacts to exchange views "on how to qualify and analyze the situations they face in the day-to-day".
"Therefore, despite Angola's TdC being 23 years old and Portugal's TdC being 635 years old, however, the problems we face are the same and the ways of facing them are common and, therefore, we have not only at the bilateral level, but also at the CPLP level, there is very rich cooperation", he concluded.
José Tavares is one of the rapporteurs for the week celebrating the 23rd anniversary of the country's Court of Auditors, whose work began this Wednesday and runs until Friday, at the Palace of Justice, in Luanda.
The celebrations of the 23rd anniversary of the Court of Auditors take place under the motto "Promoting Transparency and Responsibility in Public Finances".
